Violin and Viola Instructor
Susan Whitelock comes from a musical family. Her father was a violinist in the Minnesota Orchestra and was, of course, one of her many distinguished teachers. She is an experienced teacher and performer of music from classical to pop to jazz. She even plays and teaches fiddle. Susan has played in symphonies from Amarillo Texas to Florida, where she played with the Miami Opera, and as far away as Italy where she performed in the Puccini Festival. In the Pop and Jazz genre she has been heard playing Phantom of the Opera in Las Vegas and has entertained our troops in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Her impressive list of artist with whom she has worked include Tony Bennett, Harry Connick, Jr., Bobby McFerrin, the Allman Bros., Aerosmith (yes, Aerosmith) and others too numerous to mention. She has even had the honor of playing for former President and First Lady George and Barbara Bush.
Susan likes to create a balance between performing and teaching. She has taught at many different levels from private lessons for beginners to advanced players in college.
