Piano Instructor

Dorothy (Dotty) Hershey's diverse musical life began at the young age of 6 when she started taking piano lessons. She also sang in the church choir through high school and later even picked up the guitar.

She has worked in the entertainment department of Caesars Palace, in Las Vegas where she was responsible for screening audition tapes from entertainers all around the world. During this time she received instruction from professional lounge musicians that played in various venues and, later, while living in Virginia, she studied with Camille Glazebrook.

For the last 2 years Ms Hershey has been active in the Chancel Choir at Foundry United Methodist Church. She has attended Choir Workshops in 1998 and 1999 sponsored by the Houston Choral Society. She has recently completed two courses from the Houston Community College in voice and piano improvisation. She also plays the keyboard at Assisted Living Care facilities in the Houston area.

Dottie has taught piano full-time from 1998 until the present in the Houston area. She was a piano instructor at The Academy of Arts & Music at Foundry United Methodist Church from 2004 – 2009.

One thing you learn about Dottie is that she loves music and she loves to keep learning and instilling those qualities in her students.
